THE FASTING DOCTOR THANKSGIVING FASTING CHALLENGE

Thanksgiving is around the corner!  That’s why I decided to create a Thanksgiving Fasting Challenge.  From 11/21/2019 – 11/28/2019, we will have a short fasting challenge with a different focus to help us roll into Thanksgiving guilt-free.  Remember, if the feast is Thanksgiving Day, then we need to remember a bit of discipline before the feast.  Not celebrating Thanksgiving?  No problem!  Join the challenge anyway!  It’s always a good time to fast! Here is an outline of each day below:

Day 1) Black Coffee Fast
Day 2) Scatch the Snack
Day 3) Get Moving
Day 4) Plain Tea Fast
Day 5) Short Window Day
Day 6) Take the Stairs
Day 7) Fast Until it’s Time For Your Thanksgiving Meal!

You may follow along via Facebook or Instagram where I will appear live each day during the challenge to host a Q&A.  Facebook and Instagram participants will have the chance to win a three-month subscription to my coaching program, which is launching in December.

Remember, the challenge starts THIS THURSDAY (11/21/2019)!

Below is a detailed description of each day for the daily posts:

Day 1) Black Coffee Fast: 18-hour fast, starting at 7 pm the night before.  Let’s really try to keep our coffee black today!  Replacements for coffee include plain, herbal teas, and water.
Day 2) Scatch the Snack: Pick your own fasting length, but CUT OUT snacking during your eating window.  Frequent snacking results in frequent insulin spikes, which we want to avoid!  Eventually, the hope is you will permanently decrease a snacking habit.
Day 3) Get Moving: 16-hour fast, starting at 7pm the night before, with a goal of at least 30 minutes of physical activity for the day.
Day 4) Plain Tea Fast: 18-hour fast, starting at 7 pm the night before.  This day is for all of my tea drinkers! Replacements for tea include black coffee and water.
Day 5) Short Window Day: Today, our eating window is from 12 pm to 6 pm.  It will be a challenge, but we can do it!
Day 6) Take the Stairs: 16-hour fast, starting at 7pm the night before, with the goal of using only the stairs for the day.  Substitutions include 45 minutes of physical activity.
Day 7) Fast Until it’s Time for Your Thanksgiving Meal! Congratulations!  You’ve reached the end of the challenge!  Now enjoy your day!  Remember, if we live an intermittent fasting lifestyle for the majority of the year, we can truly enjoy the feast on our holiday.
