FWG CHAT | EPISODE 10 | MY CHAT WITH REDUCED FAT MOMMA!!

On this episode of FWG Chat (originally aired on February 19, 2019), we are joined by Crystal (@reducedfatmomma on Instagram) and she absolutely KILLED IT!!! Crystal shares her inspiring story on how she shed over 100 pounds in just over a year — all on her own!! Here are some of the top takeaways from our conversation:

  • When starting your journey to health and weight loss, try to find your “why.”
  • There will always be challenges — move past the excuses.
  • Be grateful that you can ACTUALLY MOVE!! So many people struggle to do day-to-day activities, such as walking, feeding themselves, clothing themselves, etc. Don’t take those things for granted!
  • Find another outlet for comfort or reward other than food. This is called “stimulus control”. Replace your negative stress response with a positive one. This could include exercise, meditation, journaling, art, etc.
  • Whole, real foods are the key to ANY nutrition plan.

ABOUT CRYSTAL

Crystal is a 34-year-old wife, step-mom and mommy. She spent all of her life being overweight and obese. It wasn’t until her 2 1/2 year old son was born and had a stroke, that life was pulled out from under her. She dealt with it by self-medicating with food. She was an emotional eater and an overeater. On January 1, 2018, she stepped on the scale and was her highest weight ever.
She knew changes were needed or premature illness and possibly death would follow. She began eating healthy and then eventually working out. The rest is history. In 14 months, she’s lost 108 lbs and finally has her life back! She is now training for a 10k in May and instead of eating when she’s sad, mad, or upset, she works out!

Crystal wants to give hope to others, that they too, can change their lives.
