FWGCHAT | EPISODE 16 | INTERMITTENT FASTING & INSULIN RESISTANCE WITH DR. AMY SHAH

I can’t begin to explain how excited I was to talk to Dr. Amy Shah (@dramyshah on Instagram) on this special episode of FWG Chat (originally aired on April 18, 2019)!! Dr. Shah is a double board certified MD (Internal Medicine and Allergy & Immunology) and one of the foremost experts in hormone balance, gut health, and food sensitivities. You can follow more of Dr. Shah’s great work on her website.

For the first 30 minutes, Dr. Shah and I gave a detailed overview of intermittent fasting, insulin resistance, and insulin sensitivity. We also shared a little bit of our own personal journeys toward health and wellness.

For the last 10 minutes of the episode, I answered some great follower questions on topics, including:

  • Fasting while pregnant
  • Can dairy be a part of a keto diet?
  • Ways to get in more calories if you’re having problems eating enough
  • Fasting and infertility
  • My opinion on exogenous ketones (spoiler alert: I DON’T like them!)

I hope you enjoy the episode as much as I enjoyed recording it!

*** NOTE: We experienced some technical difficulties during the conversation, so I apologize for the choppiness you may see at points during our conversation!
